Ottawa’s Community Safety and Well-Being Plan – Phase 2 Engagement

The City of Ottawa is looking for feedback as it continues to develop its Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan. On October 28, 2020, City Council approved six local priorities:

  • discrimination
  • marginalization & racism
  • financial security & poverty reduction
  • gender-based violence & violence against women
  • housing, integrated & simpler systems
  • mental well-being.

Phase 2 of this community engagement, which runs from now until February 28, 2021, will focus on gathering more detailed feedback to set strategic objectives, strategies and actions on each of the priorities.

Here is how you can participate:

  • Register to attend a City-led virtual community conversation meeting where you will discuss one of the CSWB priorities in a facilitated virtual session.
  • Participate in the CSWB online survey.
  • Join the conversation and add your suggestions to the online virtual forum.
  • Drop a pin and leave a comment on the online map feature. The City is gathering input of where residents and stakeholders experience gaps in services related to the CSWB priorities.
  • Host your own virtual meeting in your community using the CSWB Community Toolkit.

Details are available on the CSWB webpage. Contact the project team at  CSWB/SBEC@ottawa.ca or 613-580-2424, ext. 42489, for more information.

Public consultation on the LeBreton Flats pathway

The National Capital Commission (NCC) is inviting residents to participate in an online public consultation on a universally accessible multi-use pathway that will be built at LeBreton Flats.

This pathway will connect the Capital Pathway along the Ottawa River to the Pimisi and Bayview O-Train stations at LeBreton Flats. These pathways are the first element to be implemented from the Mobility, and Parks and Public Realm strategies in the new LeBreton Flats Master Concept Plan, which was approved in 2020.

This online consultation gives residents an opportunity to

  • learn about the pathway’s proposed design;
  • provide feedback on the kind of user experience you think the pathway should facilitate; and
  • share your ideas about activities and events you’d like to see along the historic aqueduct west of Pimisi Station.

The online questionnaire is available on the NCC’s website from now until February 12, 2021.
