Summer Fun Day 2017

Summer Fun Day is coming on July 29th. We are doing it earlier this year to hopefully avoid weather issues and place this event in the middle of the summer.

This year we are planning:

  • Bouncy castle
  • Face painting
  • Bike parade
  • Senior’s tent
  • BBQ
  • Ice Cream truck
  • Fire Department
  • Games
  • Movie Night!

Looking forward to seeing you there! We will also have a table set up so you can meet this year’s Executive and discuss future plans for our community.

Glabar Park Community Garage Sale – update

Bad news!  The volunteer that was going to look after the community garage sale is no longer available, so we won’t be able to have that central location where community members can drop off their items unless we find another volunteer.

If you know of anyone that would be able to volunteer on Saturday, please email us.  Otherwise, there will be no drop off.

Even if there is no centralized community sale at the Kingsmere park field house, everyone is still encouraged to hold garage sales at their homes this weekend.

Glabar Park Community Garage Sale

The neighborhood-wide Garage Sale will be held on June 10th 2017.  This is the same date as The City of Ottawa’s Give Away Weekend.

The GPCA is holding a centralized community sale at the Kingsmere Fieldhouse. You can setup a table at the fieldhouse, or items can be dropped off the morning of June 10th. If you are dropping off items, please tag them with prices first. Proceeds from drop-off items support our community activities.

Kingsmere Rink Status

Happy Sunday All!

We closed the rink yesterday because the outdoor temperature is above freezing.  There is standing water on the hockey rink and puddle rink, and it’s not safe for skating or playing on.

Please stay off the rink for now.  When it gets below freezing again, the ice should be perfect for skating!  For example, Monday’s forecasted high is +1C, and the low is -8C.  It will likely be good for skating if temperatures only go above freezing for an hour or two in the middle of the day.  As long as it’s below freezing most of the day, the ice should be fine to skate on.

Thank you.
