Rink Update – 2019-01-24

We closed the rink when it started raining yesterday. It is still closed today.

We will need to shovel the snow off the ice once the temperature goes below -5C again – hopefully this evening starting around 8pm – 9pm.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come and help shovel the ice surfaces tonight and tomorrow. Once the temperature is right, we need to complete a lot of work before the Winter Fun Day on January 26!

Rink Update – 2019-01-20

Someone came forward and volunteered to supervise for the entire day (1pm-7pm) today. That means the fieldhouse will be open for getting skates on, warming up, and the bathroom.

Please remember to shovel the ice if you use it, including lifting the snow and putting it outside the hockey rink. Leaving any snow on the ice beside the boards degrades the quality of ice there.

Rink Update – 2019-01-18

The rink continues to be open for skating.

We need volunteers to supervise the following upcoming shifts:

  • 6pm-9pm tonight (Friday January 18th)
  • 11am-2pm this Saturday January 19th
  • 5pm-8pm this Saturday January 19th
  • All 3 shifts on Sunday January 20th
    • 1pm-3pm
    • 3pm-5pm
    • 5pm-7pm

The fieldhouse cannot be opened for skaters to warm up unless we have a supervision volunteer.

Update@5pm: we have a volunteer for this evening!

Rink Update – 2019-01-14

The rink is open today. Both rink surfaces were shoveled and flooded last night. The rink is in excellent shape.

Volunteer supervisors will be onsite and have the fieldhouse open from 6pm to 9pm today.

Please remember to shovel the ice if you use it. This includes shoveling snow and ice chips that are shoveled from the middle of the ice surface and dumped at the boards.
