The Glabar Park Community Alliance has received the following guidelines from the City of Ottawa with regards to outdoor rinks:
Ottawa has been assigned to the orange level of restriction effective Tuesday February 16, 2021, based on its COVID-19 indicator levels.
Most of the restrictions currently in place at outdoor rinks will continue to be in place, including
- the requirement to wear masks within 15 meters of the rink;
- a maximum of 25 skaters permitted on boarded rinks;
- a maximum of 12 skaters on puddle rinks; and
- the requirement to maintain a 2- meter physical distance between those residing in different households.
It also means that hockey, ringette and other game play activity will be permitted on the rinks with the requirement for those from different households to maintain a 2- meter physical distance.
Indoor facilities will be open for washroom use, first aid requirements, warming and skate changing (health screening must be completed before entering the facility).
Ottawa operations staff will begin to return hockey nets to the designated sites on Tuesday. Delivery of all nets is expected to be completed prior to February 20th. Rink operators may remove the “no sticks, no pucks” signs on Tuesday February 16th.
Please note that the stay at home order remains in effect this weekend and by-law will continue to monitor rinks for compliance with the associated regulations.
