Summer Fun Day is this Saturday

Join us for an afternoon of fun in Kingsmere Park (2074 Benjamin Avenue), presented by the Glabar Park Community Alliance. From noon to 3pm on Saturday, August 12, there will be
• music
• pool time
• a fire truck visit (from 1pm-2pm)
• frozen treats
• hot dogs, chips, juice and pop for purchase ($1 for each item)
There is a water bottle refill station located in the field house, so don’t forget your reusable water bottle!
To kick off the day’s activities, children are invited to participate in a bike parade. No pre-registration is required – just arrive at Glabar Park (845 Hare Avenue) with your bicycles by 11:45AM. GPCA president Trent Gray-Donald will lead everyone to Kingsmere Park. Spectators can watch along any part of the route and are encouraged to assist with holding back traffic as needed (We will proceed south along Hare to Harmony, west to Kingsmere, then south to the park). Bike decorations are optional, but welcome!
Thanks to the generous contribution of Morris Home Team, a large tent has been rented for the event and we will proceed rain or shine. As seating will be limited, please bring your own chair if you can.
Event volunteers are still needed, so please email glabarparkca@gmail.com if you can lend a hand at any point.

Neighbourhood Garage Sale Tomorrow

Residents of Glabar Park have coalesced around Saturday, June 3 for a neighbourhood-wide garage sale. This date also coincides with The Big Give – an initiative of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church that will take place from 9AM to 1PM at 971 Woodroffe Avenue.

As with the Alliance’s Giveaway Days, residents are asked not to obstruct sidewalks when setting out items on their property. Items should also be clearly marked for sale and supervised accordingly.

Happy shopping!

Spring Giveaway Day takes place May 6

The Spring edition of Giveaway Day takes place in Glabar Park this Saturday, May 6.
Residents can leave their items at the end of their properties with a sign marked “free” (but please do not obstruct sidewalks in doing so).
Get further ahead in your Spring cleaning by getting rid of household items that are no longer needed. Then get outside enjoy the May weather and see what others are giving away!
Removing clutter can also help avoid problems with wildlife, so take advantage of this great community event to clear up those yards, garages and crawl spaces.
A fall edition will take place at the end of September.

Winter Fun Day is this Saturday at Kingsmere Park

Presented by the Glabar Park Community Alliance, between 12:00pm and 3:00pm.

Weather permitting: ice conditions will determine whether the program can go ahead. Please check back closer to the date for any cancellation notices.
